How much traveling is involved with Tournament Basketball?
Most tournaments we attend are typically the Twin Cities Metro Area and Surrounding Cities. Parents and Players can expect to stay In-State for all tournaments unless, the parents, coaches and players elect to travel to neighboring states for a maximum of 1 tournament, this may be an overnight tournament and cost for room and board is paid by the parents/players.
What is the schedule for Travel Program?
Our Elite Mammoths Teams practice twice a week and compete in weekend tournaments. Tryouts are held in March, practices begin in April, and tournaments begin in May. There is a break over Fourth of July, and play continues until the month, we rarely have tournaments that are held in August.

We typically plan for 5 to 7 tournaments for the season for each team. Teams are guaranteed two games in each tournament, and sometimes get as many as four. Games are usually Saturday and Sunday; the larger tournaments sometimes schedule games on Friday evening.
How do I know if my child is ready for Travel Basketball?
In March, all players interested in the Elite Mammoths Program will be evaluated. We aim to have (1) one team formed in each division, which means players are encourage to try their best at tryouts.

What does the evaluation process entail?
The traveling evaluations occur over the course of two nights for each grade. It is vital that each player attend both sessions to ensure an accurate assessment. We have (3) instructors to conduct the evaluations. Players will be evaluated on individual skills as well as their game play. We encourage players to attend the open gyms that take place in advance of the evaluations; they are good opportunities to better understand what will occur at them. Results will be communicated within a few days of the completion of evaluations.
How many players are placed on travel teams?
We allow an 8 player max on each team. This ensures significant playing time for each player. We occasionally make exceptions, most notably in the girls program. Due to small numbers, and the lack of a sporting opportunities provided, we feel it is important to keep as many girls playing as possible.
